The following cheats were collected from the SimWatch list-serve. ------------------------------------------------------ To type in a cheat press Ctrl-Shift-C. A textbox will pop up with a text cursor in it. Type your cheat, then press Enter. Type ! to repeat last cheat. Use ; to seperate cheats when entering multiple cheats. Type !;!;!;!;!; to repeat the command 5 times. This is a great way to get a lot of money quickly. Use the money cheat, then follow it with a string of !; ------------------------------------------------------ Changes in Cheats after installing Patch 1.1 - Removed the set_hour cheat - Changed the code for the money cheat from KLAPAUCIUS to ROSEBUD ------------------------------------------------------ Heres a tip if your sim is running real late for a carpool or something type 'move_objects on' and then pick up your sim in buy mode and stick them right next to the car so they wont be late!!! ------------------------------------------------------ But if you install the game ... ADD a "control" Directory/Folder and copy the UNUSED/NEW UserData Folder to it, you can ALWAYS start fresh... Once you have played with the CHEAT and tried EVERYTHING, then reinstall the UserData folder from "control" and overwrite ALL files and try it with no cheats, lol its harder BUT MUCH MORE rewarding.. ------------------------------------------------------ KLAPAUCIUS - Gives you 1000 Simoleons (use ROSEBUD if you installed the 1.1 Patch) WATER_TOOL - Puts water around your home INTERESTS - Views selected Sims personalitys that aren`t listed in the menu AUTONOMY - (Values 0-100)-How much the Sims think on their own GROW_GRASS - (VALUES 0-150)- MAP_EDIT ON - Self explainitory MAP_EDIT OFF - Self explainitory ROUTE_BALLOONS ON - Self explainitory ROUTE_BALLOONS OFF - Self explainitory SWEEP - Shows the "ticks" in the game (Values on/off) DRAW_ALL_FRAMES - Self explanitory TILE_INFO - Self explanitory SWEEP - Shows "ticks" of the game. Possible values are on and off. LOG_MASK - Set event logging mask. bubble_tweak [z offset] - sets the z value used to offset the sims' thought bubbles report_assets - enables or disables assets report. quats - enables or disables quaternion transformations. import [FAM file] - Import and load the given FAM file. I couldn't turn it off. Also I could not get SET_SPEED to work. It says no such cheat for me. SIM_SPEED works but as soon as you click another speed or when your sims go to sleep it is overturned. Grow_Grass I don't get either, probably not waiting long enough. INTERESTS, brings up a dialog displaying interests but I don't see how to set them as per the cheat description. The one that works best is KLAPAUCIUS. Follow this by the repeat command ! and you can easily add money to your sims account. Of course one should only do for exploring and not actual gameplay :). SWEEP is interesting but needs more of an explanation. TILE_INFO is actually fascinating, as you can use it to look at object info in each tile. I am not sure what MAP_EDIT ON does except display a tile grid, I couldn't figure out how to edit. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've now had another case of the 'stuck sim' - this time someone got stuck in bed and wouldn't wake up. If you hit [CTRL] [SHIFT] [C] to access the cheat window and then type in 'move_objects on' (without the quotes) the next time you go into buy mode you can move and delete objects that are usually unmoveable. Using this mode, delete the sim that is stuck. If he is from your household he should be fully recovered and unstuck when you next go into live mode and if he is a visitor he should be gone (and fine in his own household). A warning though - don't go round deleting things you shouldn't like mailboxes because you'll totally screw up your game and render it unplayable! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One cheat I found while playing is to use the "move_objects on" cheat to delete bills once you've gotten them out of the mailbox and placed them on a table. Don't ever delete the mailbox!!!!!! If you do, you will not be able to interact with neighboring Sims at all. And don't delete the curbside garbage can or carpool! You will have to reinstall to get the mailbox, garbage can & carpool back. You can move the mailbox & garbage can closer to the house, but make sure there is clearance so they can be used. In one of my Sim houses I put the mailbox in the bedroom. The maillady and newspaper girl both come into the bedroom to deliver now, and my Sim doesn't have to waste 10 Sim minutes walking out to the curb (Sims take an awfully long time to do things, don't they?). Repeat last cheat ; Separate multiple cheat commands Fast Money Bring up cheat mode and enter the "klapaucius" code. The bring up cheat mode again and enter "!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!:!;! " (you may add up to 60 total). Garbage Bag of Holding In the early stages of The Sims life time is often wasted emptying the trash and bringing it to the curb. I found that if you fill the cheap 30 simolian trash barrel you can order your sim to empty it and just as they remove the bag cancel the order. Then order them to pick up the mess that they just made and they will return the full bag to an empty barrel, which will now be empty. Do this every time it fills and trash need never be brought outside to the curb again. This saves a lot of time. Paying the Bills Simply keep a bill, unpaid, until the mail carrier delivers the next set. When your flag is up (your mailbox being full of-- what else, more bills), pay the first one (i.e., bring it out to the mailbox.) When you do this, the newer bills disappear. Using this cheat, you will only have to pay every other bill, instead of every one. Building a Castle in the Clouds Large second-floor extensions to a house, or even an entire house in the air, can be built totally unsupported by the following method. First, lay out a complete ground layer of pillars. You'll need lots to form a surface to build on. Next build your second-floor home on top of these pillars. It's important that you do ALL the structural work at this point; get all the walls placed and floors put in. Don't forget the stairs! Next, simply switch to the ground floor, and delete all the pillars. The house will remain standing, completely unsupported by anything except thin air! Voila! A castle in the clouds for your Sims! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
